On the weekend of 21.-22. July the annual Billabong Kids Camp Sylt took place in Rantum on the island of Sylt, Germany in the North Sea.
The seventh edition of the camp saw 30 kids between 8 and 14 years of age making their first steps on a surfboard. Apart from the surfing itself the Surf Club Sylt organized small workshops on the protection of dunes, sea animals and the beaches as well as First Aid and some valuable information on surfboards, wetsuits and leashes.
Also in attendance were Billabong teamriders Malte Mappes, Tim Schubert, Marc Thomsen, Niggi Brüggen, Rachel Scheele and Markus Mager as well as the coach of the German National Junior Team Arnd Wiener.
